Smith College Edition

In celebration of Smith College’s 150th anniversary, we invite you—students and alums alike—to take part in a global storytelling journey.

The Smith College Edition diaries are part of the Traveling Diary Tour, a collective writing project where each participant contributes a page to a circulating diary. These special editions will journey from hand to hand between September 1 and December 31, 2025, gathering personal stories, reflections, drawings, poems, and visions of the future from Smithies around the world.

 

These diaries will weave a rich tapestry of voices—spanning class years, cultures, and continents—and capture what it means to be part of the Smith community across time.

 

Whether you're a current student reflecting on life in Northampton or an alum who still remembers your first Mountain Day, walking across campus in the fall, or quiet moments by Paradise Pond, your page will help shape a living archive of Smith’s past, present, and imagined future—a celebration of 150 years of resilience, brilliance, and transformation.

 

This is more than a keepsake—it's a shared creation of memory, meaning, and imagination.
